Welcome to JL Therapeutics, located in Rochester, MI. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and services, including booking, onboarding, and receipt of therapeutic treatments. By accessing our website, booking an appointment, or receiving services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

1. Description of Services
JL Therapeutics offers a range of therapeutic services focused on wellness and self-care, including various types of massage therapy, Arvigo Maya Abdominal Therapy, Ashiatsu (barefoot massage), Graston Technique (instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization), cupping therapy, reflexology, dry needling, and colon hydrotherapy. These services are provided by licensed and trained professionals and are intended for relaxation, pain relief, improved circulation, and overall well-being. Our services are not medical treatments and do not diagnose, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.

2. Eligibility and Age Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old to book or receive services independently. Minors under 18 may receive services only with the written consent from a parent or legal guardian. A Parent or guardian must be present in the room during the first session. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not meet these requirements or for any other reason at our discretion.
All customers, regardless of age must be able to physically get on and off the massage table without assistance from the massage therapist. If the customer cannot safely manage this, they are required to bring a care giver to assist.

3. Booking and Appointments
Appointments can be booked via our website, phone, or in person.
We require a valid credit card or payment method to secure your booking.
You agree to provide accurate personal and health information during the booking and onboarding process.
Sessions are typically 45-90 minutes, depending on the service selected.
Late arrivals may result in shortened session time without adjustment to fees.

4. Cancellations, No-Shows, and Refunds
Cancellations must be made 36 hours in advance to avoid charges. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged a $50 fee for the first offense. Any additional late cancellations or no-shows, customers will incur the full session fee.

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances, such as therapist illness or emergencies. In such cases, we will offer a full refund on any prepaid services and reschedule the appointment in a timely manner.

Prepaid services or packages are non-refundable but may be transferable with prior approval.

Gift certificates are non-refundable and expire two years from purchase.

5. Payments and Fees
Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.
We accept cash, credit cards, and select digital payments. Prices are subject to change without notice.
Additional fees may apply for add-on services, late payments, or returned checks.
Tips are appreciated but not required.

6. Client Responsibilities and Health Disclosures
You must complete a health intake form prior to your first session and update it as needed for subsequent visits.
Disclose all relevant medical history, including but not limited to: pregnancies, surgeries, medications, allergies, skin conditions, heart conditions, blood clotting disorders, recent injuries, or any contraindications (e.g., acute infections, uncontrolled high blood pressure, osteoporosis, or recent fractures).
Inform us immediately of any changes in your health status.
You are responsible for communicating your comfort level, preferences, and any pain during the session.
Failure to disclose health information may result in session cancellation or refusal of service, and you assume all risks associated with incomplete disclosure.

7. Consent to Treatment and Waiver of Liability
By booking and receiving services, you consent to the following:

General Consent: I understand that JL Therapeutics’ services are complementary therapies and not substitutes for medical care. I have been advised to consult a physician for any medical concerns.
Risks and Benefits: All therapies carry potential risks, including but not limited to temporary soreness, bruising, redness, fatigue, or allergic reactions to oils/lotions. Benefits may include reduced stress, improved circulation, pain relief, and enhanced mobility. No guarantees are made regarding outcomes.

Specific Therapy Risks:
Massage Therapies (including Arvigo, Ashiatsu, Reflexology): May cause muscle soreness, lightheadedness, or emotional release. Contraindications include fever, acute inflammation, or recent surgery.
Graston Technique: Involves instrument use; risks include bruising or skin irritation.
Cupping: May leave temporary marks/bruises lasting up to 10 days; risks include temporary skin discoloration.
Dry Needling: Involves needle insertion; risks include bruising, bleeding, infection, dizziness, or rare complications like pneumothorax (lung puncture). Not suitable for those with needle phobia or bleeding disorders.
Colon Hydrotherapy: Involves a client administered sterile disposable rectal tube where filtered water enters the colon; risks include cramping, irritation at insertion site, electrolyte imbalance. Requires medical clearance if you have gastrointestinal disorders, recent surgery, or heart conditions.

I acknowledge these risks and agree that JL Therapeutics, its owners, employees, and contractors are not liable for any injury, damage, or loss arising from services, except in cases of gross negligence.

I waive any claims against JL Therapeutics for known or unknown risks and agree to indemnify and hold harmless JL Therapeutics from any liabilities.

I consent to emergency medical assistance if needed and agree to cover associated costs.

Sessions may be discontinued at any time if I feel uncomfortable, and I can revoke consent verbally.

8. Conduct and Safety
We maintain a professional, safe environment. Inappropriate behavior, including sexual advances, harassment, or violence, will result in immediate termination of the session without refund and possible legal action.

We follow strict hygiene protocols, including sanitation of equipment and use of disposable items where applicable.

You agree to refrain from wearing any perfumes or colognes during your time in the building.

You agree not to attend sessions if you have contagious conditions (e.g., cold, flu, or skin infections).

9. Intellectual Property
Our website content, including text, images, and logos, is owned by JL Therapeutics and protected by copyright laws. You may not reproduce or distribute without written permission.

10. Privacy
We respect your privacy. Personal and health information is collected solely for providing services and is handled in accordance with applicable laws. Please review our separate Privacy Policy for details on data collection, use, and protection.

11. Limitation of Liability
Services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. JL Therapeutics is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or emotional distress. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the service in question.

12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify JL Therapeutics against any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of services.

13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any disputes shall be resolved in courts located in Oakland County, MI.

14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of changes. Check our website for the latest version.
